What makes Kindred Cator Park unique? 

Nestled in peaceful Cator Park, our preschool offers a calm and natural setting that perfectly supports the Montessori approach.

With three experienced Montessori teachers and over 25 years of trusted reputation in the Beckenham community, we focus on helping children grow in confidence and independence. 

Our mixed-age setting allows the younger children to learn by observing and interacting with their older peers, developing social skills and encouraging gentle role-modelling. 

We also work closely with our families, regularly inviting our parents into the preschool to share parts of their family life and experiences with the children.

  • Age Range: We offer care for children from 2 years up to 5 years.
  • Opening Hours: We are open 08:30 - 17:00, term time only.
  • Ofsted Rating: We are proud to have been rated Outstanding by Ofsted at their last visit on 26th November 2019.
  • Location: We are located in Cator Park, Beckenham.
  • Government Funding: We accept all government funding including 30 free hours. Please speak to staff for eligibility details. 
  • Enrichment Activities: Spanish, Cooking, Dance, Science, Sport and Yoga.
  • Parking: We have our own private car park for parents.
  • Discounts: 5% NHS and Service Personnel discounts available. Ask staff for more details.

We are situated within the grounds of Cator Park, Beckenham. 

We are conveniently located:

  • a 6 minute walk from Kent House Train Station
  •  an 8 minute walk from New Beckenham Station
  •  a 10 minute walk from Clock House Station.

  • "Absolutely fabulous nursery setting. Wonderful, caring, gentle staff who have an interest in each child as an individual, and they offer a genuine Montessori setting (most nurseries we viewed only had one Montessori practitioner). It's fairly small, which is great for my child, who had never been away from family, as I was worried he would find it overwhelming.
    My only small quibble is you have to provide your own packed lunch, but that is a minor inconvenience.
    I highly recommend this nursery and can't wait to watch my son's progression as he grows."

Our Awards

Our Montessori approach to Pre-School

Our aim is to develop “the whole child”, instilling an enthusiasm for learning, and building strong foundations for our pupils’ future education. The Montessori Method believes that a teacher’s role is merely one to aid and support the child’s exploration and creativity, while the child learns from their environment and other children at their own pace. This method has shown to help foster independence, confidence, a sense of pride in their achievements and positive self-esteem from an early age. 

  • Free-play activities, such as a role play area and construction toys for imaginary play to develop spatial awareness, motor skills, language and social skills
  • Our mud-kitchen, digging, mini beast and planting areas add to the whole outdoor experience. In addition, our children enjoy a carefully planned programme of special activities, outings and events including nature walks in the park, visits to the library and the teddy-bears picnic where we eat the food harvested from the children’s own planting programme
  • Easily accessible Montessori materials in our indoor and outdoor classrooms, including activities for “Everyday Living”, “Education of the Senses”, “Mathematics”, “Literacy”, “Cultural” and “Understanding the World
